In the spring approximately May 1 we start shipping plants. We have 6 outlets so the load preparation is critical to keeping those outlets properly stocked.
Preparing the loads is arguably the most physically demanding job we have. You will be required to drive a tractor. The plants have to be chosen (based upon a "pick list"), loaded and sorted on racks and consolidated to our shipping area.
The load preparation team live by the motto "make hay while the sun shines!". What does this mean? When orders come in it means that sales are available for those products. If we get the products out we help with those sales. If the products don't make it out they can't sell so in a very real sense the load preparers are responsible for all our sales.
If you like physical activity, working in a team and have good attention to detail then load preparations might be for you.
